Our Hollow, Our Home – Hartsick Review

Our Hollow, Our Home
Hartsick
Self Released
Released: 3/3/17

One of the biggest metalcore acts within the underground scene Our Hollow, Our Home have been gaining loads of momentum since 2015 when they dropped their EP ‘Redefine’ and now they have just released their debut album which is a release which we’ve been looking forward to for a while, as featured on our Most Anticipated Albums of 2017 list.

We start off with the opening track ‘The Sea Will Sleep’ which gives us a great first impression a what is a perfect introduction leading into a massive breakdown which then leads into the track ‘Loneshark’ where we see the first of many chorus hooks that OHOH pull out on this album. Tracks like ‘Worms Wood’, ‘Karmadillo’, ‘Thrown To The Wolves’ and ‘Pride: Lieoness’ with Tobias Young’s (Bassist) cleans really showcase the talent he has and what he can bring to the table, and that being backed by Connor Hallisey’s soaring screams the way these two vocalists can bounce from each other it really is quite a perfect musical pairing.

Hartsick takes a modern twist on metalcore and Our Hollow, Our Home are doing things right, if  the genre continues taking things in this direction metalcore could be a thing people will start talking about again. Our Hollow, Our Home are definitely a band to look out for this year and there future is looking brighter than ever.

Our Hollow, Our Home have released this album independently and you can purchase it directly from the band here.
